The Centre has active research collaboration with other academic and research institutions in the country. These institutions include NEERI, Nagpur, CMRI, Dhanbad, MECON, Ranchi, IIT, Delhi and Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi. SACON, Coimbatore, WAPCOS, New Delhi, NBSSLUP, Kolkata and NBU, Siliguri. These institutions draw upon the Centre's expertise and database facility for various studies being conducted at the respective institutions. The Centre has recently been recognized as the Centre of Excellence by the Ministry of Power, Government of India to conduct studies on environmental issues related to power development.
